We had the privilege of meeting this fantastic gentleman at Basic Training Graduation in April. He was mentioned in many of the letters that were sent home during those weeks especially the hours they spent talking about anything and everything. Our son said that he was one of the hardest working and most humble people he has ever known. He is truly considered a brother. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you.
A beloved friend, marine, brother and son. Michael was many things in life, close and dear to us all in different ways. May he finally be the one more thing in life that he strived and that we must all strive to be and that is a saint. Rest in peace and pray for us, Michael.

PFC Giannattasio was an outstanding Marine who stepped up to the difficult challenge of earning a spot amongst our distinguished reconnaissance forces. Though he will be deeply missed, he will always remain in our ranks. Once a Marine, always a Marine.
The “Hammer” Award was given to the athlete that shows uncommon work ethic and desire for improvement. It was given to someone that gave everything they had into practicing and working hard at their sport. Michael really was the perfect example of a LaSalette Lion.
Our son has spent that last several months in training with Mike. He was a good kid and a great Marine. There truly are no words to express how heartbroken we are for your family. We pray that God will comfort you and carry you through this difficult season and that your memories of Mike will bring you peace and joy for many years to come. In Christ’s unfailing love!
